Charley Patton is considered to be one of the foremost influential bluesmen of the pre war period. The influence that he had on the generations of blues lovers to come is astronomical. Vol 1 kicks of with some of his most well loved songs, including Mississippi Boweavil Blues and Spoonful Blues; later covered by Cream. The slide performance in these two songs is stellar.
